Creating inspiring value with Spice! This Wednesday morning, we had an awesome time with Spice. From all the amazing questions we’ve recorded, we’ll take them into consideration. ( some questions may be edited slightly for grammar and readability.)
Let’s do this!
Q:Hey Spicetoshi! What’s your vision for spice, BCH, and crypto more generally?
A:My personal vision for BCH and cryptocurrency generally is to see it working.
Flowing between peers without hindrance or middlemen attempting to stop transactions between peers.
Q:Can you explain the CoinEx accelerator program in more detail. I wrote a medium article explaining what I could, but if you could fill us in on the rest.
A:A great explanation can be found here. Which you wrote I believe :D
Q:Thanks for making our lives extra spicey :). Given the nature of SPICE, are there any plans to add a feature to spice bot as a way of tipping an entire channel?
A:Yes. It's being considered seriously.
In order to ensure it’s sustainable, admins of telegram groups would fill their rain buckets every so often, which would then randomly be distributed between the most active members of their respective groups
Q:What is the current token distribution and what percentage of the supply do the devs hold?
A:General info can be found on the SpicePaper which is being created over the coming days.
Founders and partners of Spice are currently 10+, international, with most building their own 3rd party services related to Spice.
Q:Other than Spice, what other SLP tokens do you think show a promising future?
A:Ones that focus on utility and solving actual problems that aren’t extremely esoteric.
I’m partial to the fun tokens that bring a bit of joy to people also. This goes for SLP or non SLP.
Q:Do you foresee spice being listed on major exchanges in the coming weeks/months?
A:It’s not something the team nor I overly focus on.
We see it as something that adds to the ecosystem as a whole, however, our focus is more on the larger plan, planning out and developing utility.
Keep in mind services such as Spicebot are merely distribution mechanisms. The real fun and use cases are being worked on behind the scenes as we speak.
Q:SpiceFeed, Spicebot and faucet. What is the difference between these three products?
A:Spicebot is the distribution mechanism, which as of right now works with Twitter, Telegram, twitch, dlive with more to come.
SpiceFeed.network is a singular location where you can view all the spicy content being tipped throughout the interwebs.
The faucet is a chance for everyone to grab a bit of Spice every 24 hours for the foreseeable future.
Q:Do you think the fact that SLP is not that well known yet can hinder the fast growth of spice?
A:Not at all. I’m not sure anyone even needs to know its a digital currency/token unless they are to the point of wanting to move Spice off of telegram or twitter etc.
Finding out that you can move it, hold it and cherish it, is like a bonus of sorts.
Q:It would be much easier if we could create our Spice Token on the go, what are the requirements to create a Spice Token address? Would there be a compatible mobile and desktop wallet for Spice Token?
A:Compatible wallets for all flavors of devices can be found on the homepage.
Q:Could you make a brief introduction of SLP protocol and why Spice choose the SLP?
A:SLP is an amazing protocol which allows anyone willing to take it seriously a great way to create fun projects.
Q:Crescent also works really well but still needs to add the logo (pepper).
A:Current images can be found at here with more being added over the following days.
Q:Any plans for a discord tipping bot ?
A:Yes,Reddit, discord and WeChat are on our shortlist. WeChat requires a bit more research.
Aside from the Spice Tipping Bot we are also in the midst of creating a SpicePay plugin to allow WordPress shops to accept BCH and SLP.
We have a long list of things that individually are nice but collectively will allow the grand vision to start taking shape.
Q:Do you have any connections with bitcoin.com wallet?
A:Not as of right now. However that could change in the future.
We are certainly open to partnerships. We love working with energetic people like the guys at bitcoin.com
Q:Will spicepay be available for U.S. residents?
A:As a WordPress plugin yes.
If it goes beyond a WordPress plugin, we will have to revisit.
The idea is to create something that is permissionless which doesn’t require our approval to use. The end-user (shop owner in this case) decides for themselves if they want to use it or not.
Applicable laws would be something they would need to look into themselves.
Q:Can we all agree that 1USD is a milestone we intend on hitting? We all know that a higher value means more development. In return means more outreach. A vicious cycle of the three in repetition. I know your focus isn’t on monetary value, but do you think a price of 1USD per helps or hurts the token’s vision?
A:Helps, considering in the long term, Spice will be used as a development payment token, however not our focus. We believe value is a byproduct.
Of many variables that are symbiotic. The cycle of 3 is a good example.
See you next round, stay tuned! 😎
